April Wrap-Up

I am aware of the fact that I failed to read most of the books from my April to-be-read post, HOWEVER, I did manage to read quite a lot of books this past month (10, to be exact)

Here are the books that I read during the month of April:

  • Once, by Anna Carey
  • Rise, by Anna Carey
  • A Beautiful Wedding, by Jamie McGuire
  • If I Stay, by Gayle Forman (in Finnish: Jos vielä jään)
  • Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, by Ransom Riggs
  • City of Glass, by Cassandra Clare
  • Addicted to You, by Becca & Krista Ritchie
  • Die for Her, by Amy Plum
  • Taking the Fall: vol 1, by Alexa Riley
  • Taking the Fall: vol 2, by Alexa Riley
Addicted to You, Die for Her and Taking the Fall: vol 1-2 were all eBooks and you can find them on Amazon.com

I will post a review on some of these.

Once by Anna Carey

Pros:
- this book is very fast paced
- entertaining
- not too much romance, more action and adventure
- good character development
- didn't disappoint me, like sequels tend to do
- surprising events
- plot twists
- great continuation to the first book's world building

Cons:
- slow beginning
- occasionally annoying main character
- annoying King
- cliffhanger at the end

I highly recommend this for people who liked Eve.

So, this is the first book I finished in April 2015. Because Once is the second book in the Eve- trilogy, I can't go too much into detail about the events and the plot (I don't want to be the one who spoils everyone on the major plot twist). Instead of writing a full, compact review for this book, I chose to write the "pros and cons" of this book. This way, it is easier for readers of Eve (first book in the series) to decide whether or not to read the second book.

Goodreads

Hi,

So, I have a goodreads account, which I use more than often nowadays, so you can add me as a friend there if you want :)

Click here to see my profile

Also, there is a feature on goodreads that I like a lot, which is the 2015 reading challenge. My own challenge is 100 books (I've only read 5 though, so I'm 16 books behind on the goal). I'll occasionally update my goodreads reading challenge here (how many I've read so far, how much I'm behind etc.).

I'm sorry

Hello! I don't actually think anyone has read my blog since I completely forgot about it. I've had a hard time getting into reading again soo, that's why I haven't posted.

Thank God I've gotten into reading again this month so I'll be able to post more :)

PS- If anyone's read this blog, what do you want me to post?

Introduction

I thought a good start for a blog would be an introduction post. So here you have one:

My name is Laura. I'm a 15-years-old girl from Finland. I love writing and books, so that's what this blog will mostly be about.

As weird as it sounds, my love for books is new. A couple months ago, I read the book Divergent by Veronica Roth, and that is how my passion started. I always hated books and reading, until a friend of mine told me to try reading Divergent, and so I did. All I can say is, it was "love at first sight".

I love the fact that you can feel like you live in a world different from ours, and escape the reality. When I read, I forget the world around me and focus on the content of the plot. Different books tell different stories, some good and some not so good, but they are all unique and loved by someone, and that alone is powerful.

My book collection keeps expanding faster and faster. I buy and read mostly dystopian and fantasy books, but also paranormal romance, because I love a good love story.

From now on, I want to write a review of every book I read, even if I personally didn't like it. My posts will also include book hauls.

A part of my most recently bought books

Love,
Laura
